PlayStation Now adds a handful of brand new games to its service, including major titles like Control and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
With Xbox Game Pass becoming such a monumental success, it was only a matter of time until PlayStation introduced its own interpretation of Microsoft's winning distribution method. It eventually did introduced a similar model last October, when the company decided to start a rotating cycle of downloadable PlayStation 4 games that would come to PlayStation Now for one fixed cost. From titles like God of War and Uncharted 4 to Horizon: Zero Dawn and Bloodborne, the lineup has been excellent so far, and it seems it just got better.
Announced via a blog post on the PlayStation site, it appears a handful of brand new games will be coming to PlayStation Now starting today. Alongside a host of smaller titles, the biggest names that have just arrived on the service are Control, Wolfenstein: New Colossus, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Of course, Control was
one of last year's biggest and best games, scoring a number of honors
at The Game Awards and quickly becoming a critically acclaimed
powerhouse. No doubt it will be a big draw to many looking for a reason
to try out PlayStation Now, especially as it seems a number of players
have yet to get their hands on it. Meanwhile, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Wolfenstein: New Colossus were
both well-regarded titles with a lot of fanfare upon release. The
former released in 2018 to fairly positive reviews, while the latter
dropped in 2017 to a slightly stronger reception. Both will no doubt be
superb draws for players looking to give PlayStation Now a go,
especially with Control being offered as well.
While Wolfenstein: The New Colossus appears to be staying on the service permanently, Control and Shadow of the Tomb Raider will leave the service on August 31. Alongside these games, PlayStation will be bringing a host of other titles to the service, including Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, Nascar Heat 3, Nights of Azure, Toukiden 2, and Warriors All-Stars. They will all seemingly follow Wolfenstein in staying around on the service for the foreseeable future.
With PlayStation Now just delivering some of the best games to hit the service yet, it seems like Sony is really beginning to understand what players are looking for in membership services. PlayStation Plus gave owners two relatively new titles this month in Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces, which was a move celebrated by many adopters of the membership. Hopefully, allowing players to experience huge, critically acclaimed games like Control for a smaller price will be Sony's mindset as it moves forward with PlayStation Now.
