The Division 2 Experiencing Errors on Expansion Launch Day

The Division 2 is set to launch its Warlords of New York expansion, but PC players with early access are running into errors.

The Division 2 servers recently had some downtime and Title Update 8 so that Massive Entertainment could launch the highly anticipated Warlords of New York expansion when it was ready. The Division 2's Warlords of New York expansion is set to launch at midnight for console players, though those on PC should already have access. Unfortunately, errors are keeping The Division 2 players from accessing the game.
Massive is aware of the problems that are currently impacting The Division 2 players, though it's unclear just how many are currently unable to access the game. The Division 2 errors have been persisting since the Warlords of New York expansion dropped on PC, so it's been going on for a few hours now. Luckily, it appears as though Massive has been able to reign in some of the problems, as it reported that more players have been able to login on PC.

Massive is still working on The Division 2 echo errors and has promised that finding a permanent fix is its "top priority." Hopefully it will be able to iron out all of these issues before The Division 2 Warlords of New York expansion drops at midnight, as that's when the vast majority of players will be entering the game.

It's unfortunate that these errors are keeping players from accessing The Division 2's Warlords of New York expansion. Interest in The Division 2 hasn't been as high as the original game, with The Division 2 failing to meet sales expectations. Warlords of New York is looking to draw in lapsed players who have set the game aside for something else, as well as convince those that prefer the original game to check out the sequel. Launch day errors could prevent that from happening and keep The Division 2 from getting its second lease on life.
While The Division 2 may not be quite as popular as the original game, it has still seen consistent support from Massive Entertainment. Massive has supported The Division 2 with various large updates since launch, with Title Update 6 being a complete re-balance of the game. Massive has shown a willingness to listen to criticism and adjust The Division 2 accordingly, and that kind of commitment could very well be enough to convince players to stick with the game long-term if they give it another chance.
The Division 2 Warlords of New York expansion should be available at midnight to all players, assuming the echo errors are ironed out by then.
