The history of Ubisoft's The Division series has been rocky in places, with the original game giving many a fun time, but not exactly what they had been promised. There have been issues raised about The Divison 2 as well, but Ubisoft has still shown confidence in its product, regularly updating it and releasing a new expansion: Warlords of New York.
Existing as a separate expansion from what is covered in the previous season pass for The Division 2, Warlords of New York stood to bring a lot of new content for the game. This has been great for the players that have been able to experience it, but even many who purchased the expansion have not been able to taste its new content yet.

The Warlords of New York expansion hit Division 2 players, especially those on PC, with a lot of bugs. However, none of these have been equal in scale to the new bug that several Xbox One players have begun experiencing when they try to start up their copies of the game. These players boot up the game and attempt to log into their character, only to find that character inexplicably locked and inaccessible for no reason. Ubisoft has stated that it is aware of the problem and is looking into what could be causing the bug, but no answers or solutions have been brought forth as of the writing of this article.
Needless to say, players who are affected are very unhappy, and have been quick to press hard about what is going on and what Ubisoft is doing to fix the problem. On Twitter, the official announcement of the bug has been met with outrage, and players have been quick to point out that this is not the only bug caused by Warlords of New York, nor the first time a major fix has been required. This was compounded by the fact that many players are still unhappy with nerfs to exotics in Division 2 that were made recently. In fact, many players are still requesting that the nerfs be undone, although it seems unlikely that this will come to pass at this time.
These issues aren't the only reason why some fans are upset with The Division 2. It was not that long ago that Ubisoft announced that Division 2 will follow a seasonal structure, and that fact alone has not been well received by everyone, and the various issues arising with the Warlords of New York expansion have only compiled those players' annoyance.
Perhaps it is not too late for Ubisoft to turn things around, especially since there will no doubt be other seasons and/or expansions to work with.
The Division 2 is available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
