The Division 2's Warlords of New York expansion is out now, giving players a chance to visit NYC in search of Aaron Keener, a character that fans of 2016's The Division will be quite familiar with indeed. That said, the release of Warlords of New York has been a bit rocky, as is often the case when a live service game launches a new expansion, and some players are currently encountering a bug that does not allow them to interact with Control Point Officer NPCs.
Over the past several hours, a number of The Division 2 players have taken to venues like Twitter and Reddit with indication that they are not able to talk to Control Point Officers at this time. These reports comes hot on the heels of a now-completed downtime that addressed a bug that was preventing players from interacting with Community Leader NPCs, and players suggest that this maintenance cycle was effective in resolving that issue.
With respect to when the Control Point Officer NPCs will also be back in working order, that is not currently known. However, The Division 2's developer, Massive Entertainment, indicates that the bug is being looked at "right now," which could mean that a fix will be available before day's end. While it is possible that another downtime will be required to push such a fix through, that would be a minor inconvenience if it ultimately addresses the Control Point Officer bug.
Unresponsive NPCs are not the only problems that The Division 2 players have been encountering since the launch of Warlords of New York, though. Some Xbox One owners, for instance, are currently reporting that they are unable to access the game at all, with their characters shown as locked. As with the Control Point Officer bug, this one is also being looked at by the title's developer who hopes to have a solution "as soon as possible."
As previously mentioned, it is certainly not uncommon for games to experience issues following an update on the level of Warlords of New York, and Massive is showing its commitment to resolving these problems promptly. Hopefully, most of the biggest concerns will be ironed out in preface of tomorrow's State of the Game live stream, which will focus on the expansion's launch in particular
